Region II Travel Awards for 2012 Spring Meeting
Rules and guidelines:
- The nominees must be research administrators from the Region II geographic area who have never attended an NCURA national meeting. Region II includes: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
- The Travel Awards will reimburse expenses of up to $500 for meeting registration, travel and hotel costs. The awardees are responsible for making their own travel and room reservations as well as registering for the meeting.
- The nominees are not required to be members of NCURA at the time of nomination.
- Self-nominations are permitted. All nominations must include at least one letter of support from the nominee’s supervisor. The nomination form includes identification of the nominee and her/his supervisor and asks for descriptions of the nominee’s current responsibilities, how attendance at the Spring Meeting will benefit the nominee, and how attendance at the Spring Meeting will benefit the nominee’s institution.
- Selection of the awardees will be determined by the Region II Leadership Development and Nominating Committee and the Steering Committee and Officers (“Committee”) based on perceived need and benefit to the nominees and their institutions. The Committee’s decision is final.
- The deadline for receipt of nominations is March 2, 2012. Late nominations will not be accepted. The awardees will be notified by March 23, 2012. A complete nomination application consists of the nomination form and support letter. They should be sent together as e-mail attachments to Martin Williams (WilliamsM@wpunj.edu).
- The awardees are expected to (a) stay for the duration of the Spring Meeting (April 22 to 25), (b) attend the Business Meeting to be introduced to the Region membership, and (3) submit a report and reimbursement request to the Committee via e-mail to Martin Williams on his/her Spring Meeting experiences within 30 days following the meeting.
Region II Distinguished Service Awards
The Distinguished Service Award is an annual award to recognize members of NCURA Region II who have made sustained and significant contributions to the Region. Up to three awards may be given in any one year.
The Region II Steering Committee invites nominations for this award. The Awardees will be recognized at the annual Region II Spring Meeting in Gettysburg, PA on April 24, 2012. The deadline for nominations is March 9, 2012. Submit a complete nomination packet, as described below, via email. The packet should be addressed to Martin Williams, Chair, Leadership Development and Nominating Committee, and directed to williamsm@wpunj.edu. Final selection of the awardees will be by the Region II Steering Committee.

Eligibility
A candidate for the Region II Distinguished Service Award:
- Must be a current or past member of NCURA at an institution located in Region II, and
- Must have made a significant contribution to Region II.
Region II Distinguished Service Award — Nomination Process
A complete nomination packet consists of:
- A letter of nomination detailing the nominee’s sustained and significant contributions to Region II of NCURA, and
- Two additional letters of support from individuals familiar with the nominee’s contributions to Region II of NCURA.
Complete nomination packets must be received no later than March 9, 2011 to receive consideration for the Region II Distinguished Service Award. There will be no extensions. Complete nomination packets must be addressed to Martin Williams, Chair, Leadership Development and Nominating Committee, and directed to williamsm@wpunj.edu.
