Region II Awards

NCURA Region II States USARegion II Travel Awards for 51st Annual Meeting

Region II is pleased to announce the availability of two Travel Awards for attendance at the 51st NCURA National Meeting in Washington, D.C., October 21 through 24, 2009.  The awards will reimburse travel, registration and hotel expenses up to $1,000 each for two Region II research administrators.

Please submit a nomination form and letter of support by August 10, 2009 to Alexandra McKeown, Region II Chair, amckeown@jhsph.edu.  The following are the rules and guidelines for these awards.

1.  The nominees must be research administrators from the Region II geographic area who have never attended an NCURA national meeting.  Region II includes:  Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

2.  The Travel Awards will reimburse expenses of up to $1,000 for meeting registration, travel and hotel costs.  The awardees are responsible for making their own travel and room reservations as well as registering for the meeting.

3.  The nominees are not required to be members of NCURA at the time of nomination.

4.  Self-nominations are permitted.  All nominations must include at least one letter of support from the nominee's supervisor.

5.  Selection of the awardees will be determined by the Region II Steering Committee and Officers ("Committee") based on perceived need and benefit to the nominees.  The Committee's decision is final.

6.  The deadline for receipt of nominations is August 10, 2009.  The awardees will be notified by August 28, 2009.  A complete nomination application consists of the nomination form and support letter.  They should be sent together as e-mail attachments to Alexandra McKeown at amckeown@jhsph.edu.

7.  The awardees are expected to stay for the duration of the annual meeting (October 21 - 24) and each awardee must submit a report to the Committee via e-mail to Alexandra McKeown on his/her annual meeting experiences within 30 days following the meeting.
