NCURA Region II – Full Day Workshop

Hot Topics in Research Compliance

So you understand the core competencies of research administration –  now what?  How do you apply these concepts to your daily life as Departmental, Pre-award or Post-award administrator in today’s world?  What do the audits at other institutions tell you about what you should be looking for at your institution?  How are other institutions changing their practices to keep pace with changes in the regulations?

Current “hot topics” case studies, that have been constructed using real life scenarios, serve as the core of thought-provoking workshop.  Participants will apply the foundational principles of the OMB Circulars, federal regulations and common institutional policies and procedures to work through the many shades of grey that make up the research administration kaleidoscope.  This promises to be a lively, highly interactive experience that will allow attendees to learn from the instructors as well as the other attendees.

We Want You!

Please take a few minutes to let us know what volunteer opportunities most interest you and how you might like to help in the future. There are opportunities for jobs that involve big time commitments and other opportunities that don’t involve such big time commitments; however, there is no such thing as a small contribution — all volunteer activity is vitally important to the Region. If you want to become involved at this year’s spring meeting on May 1st – May 3rd in Brooklyn, NY, you’re in luck.  We still can use volunteers as group leaders for evening events, session evaluators, in the hospitality suite or registration desk.  Please let us know by filling out the Volunteer Sign-Up Form.

Volunteer mentors will provide advice and counsel regarding sessions that might be a must-see; will provide continued support throughout the Meeting by serving as a lunch or dinner companion; and will make introductions to other NCURA members.
