We hope you will join us in Pittsburgh for challenging workshops and a stimulating program.
The workshop offerings will put more tools in your toolbox for the basics and for working with subcontracts and non-traditional agreements:
W1: Core Competencies: OMB Circular A-110 and Beyond: Understanding the Basics of Administering Federal Research Awards
W2: The Principals of S3 (Subawards, Subcontracts, Subrecipients)
W3: The In's and Out's of Creating and Negotiating an MTA, NDA, MOU, CRADA, and OTA
The main program will launch on Monday with a stimulating panel discussion on the theme of the meeting moderated by Richard McCullough, Vice President for Research, Carnegie Mellon University, and featuring these expert panelists:
Allen DiPalma, Director of Research from the University of Pittsburgh
Larry Seitzman, Engineering Manager, Virtual Product Development, Caterpillar, Inc.;
Chuck Brandt, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, The Technology Collaborative (www.techcollaborative.org);
Joanne Kyriacopoulos, Associate Vice President for Research &
Academic Administration, Carnegie Mellon University.
Another highlight of the meeting is a workshop titled "Train the Trainer" that will be offered Monday afternoon by Ronald J. Placone,
Director of Learning and Development, Carnegie Mellon University. This
workshop is offered for those individuals who want to improve their
presentation skills. The Program Committee hopes that those who take
the "Train the Trainer" workshop will volunteer to present at future
NCURA meetings.
The Monday evening event will be a dinner cruise of the Three Rivers
aboard a Gateway Clipper ship. The dinner cruise is included with the
full meeting registration. The cost for a separate ticket for the
dinner cruise only (for a guest or a day registrant) is $80. For more
